Safer local work starts with clear expectations.
Guidance for homeowners and handymen
Call 911. TrustFix is not an emergency service.
Before meeting
- Keep job details and important agreements in TrustFix messages.
- Confirm the scope, estimate, materials, arrival window, and who will be present.
- Ask about licensing, permits, and insurance when the type of work requires them.
- Do not share passwords, banking logins, Social Security numbers, or unnecessary personal information.
At the property
- Let someone know when and where the appointment is taking place.
- Secure valuables, medications, sensitive documents, and pets.
- Stop work if conditions appear unsafe or the agreed scope changes materially.
- Do not perform electrical, gas, structural, roofing, hazardous-material, or other regulated work without the required qualifications and permits.
Payments and changes
TrustFix does not process payments between homeowners and handymen; those arrangements remain between the parties. Stripe securely processes TrustFix membership fees. Put changes to job price or scope in writing before additional work begins. Avoid unusual payment requests, overpayments, gift cards, cryptocurrency, or pressure to pay before you are comfortable.
Trust Scale limitations
Approval, references, reviews, and Trust Scores reduce uncertainty but cannot eliminate risk. Use your own judgment, verify credentials appropriate to the job, and cancel the meeting if something feels wrong.
Report a concern
Save messages, photos, receipts, and relevant details. Contact TrustFix promptly for account or conduct concerns. Contact local authorities for theft, threats, violence, fraud, or other suspected crimes.
